Civil society express their views for ‘One Country, One Law’

The Chairman of the Presidential Task Force for ‘One Country, One Law’ Ven. Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thera said that a large number of civil society organizations and individuals are joining with the Task Force to express their views on the concept.

The office established at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) is open to the public from December 20 to 23 to submit their opinions.

During these few days, religious leaders, civil activists, journalists, businesspersons, professionals, representatives of political parties, Muslim and Buddhist religious organizations and women’s organizations representing various provinces and civil society organizations visited the office, the Thera further said.

People visiting the office, irrespective of race, religion or provincial differences, were particularly keen on the new concept of ‘One Country, One Law’. Ven. Gnanasara Thera said that seeing this concept become a reality by the majority of the people including the people living in the North and East is an influential stimulus to the development of the country.

The Thera further added that the office is open to all those who wish to express their views personally and in the organizational level and that he and his team is committed to collect all such views at any time.

Ven. Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thera said that he and his team has been tasked with conducting a study to enforce ‘One Country, One Law’ concept and said that the Task Force will fulfill its responsibilities within the given time frame in a transparent manner.

Secretary of the Presidential Task Force for ‘One Country, One Law’ Jeewanthi Senanayake and other members of the Task Force were also present.
