Eight new Cabinet appointments made by President today

Eight new Cabinet appointments have been made by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa this morning.

New Ministers took oaths before President Rajapaksa at the President’s House in Colombo.

The President’s Media Division said leader of the EPDP Douglas Devananda has been appointed as the Minister of Fisheries while Bandula Gunawardena has taken oaths as the new Minister for Transport, Highways and Mass Media.

Keheliya Rambukwella has been named as the Cabinet Minister for Water supply.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Freedom Party member Mahinda Amaraweera has taken oaths as the new Minister for Agriculture, Wildlife & Forest Conservation while Ramesh Pathirana has taken oaths as the new Minister of Industries.

The President has appointed Vidura Wickramanayaka as the new Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs.

Sri Lanka Muslim Congress member Ahamed Nazeer has been named as the new Minister of Environment while Roshan Ranasinghe has taken oaths as the Minister of Irrigation, Sports and Youth Affairs.

13 Cabinet Ministers were sworn in previously by the President.

The new Cabinet consists of members of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, the Samagi Jana Balawegaya, EPDP and the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress.
