An internationally accepted ‘Smart Digital vaccine certificate’ for Sri Lankans who have obtained both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, was introduced in an event presided by Minsiters Pavithra Wanniarachchi and Namal Rajapaksa.
As the first phase of the program, Minister Namal Rajapaksa handed over the digital vaccine certificates for the Sri Lanka Olympic team to the secretary of the Sri Lanka gymnastic association, Kapila Jeewantha.
In the near future, all those who have received both the doses of the Covid-19 vaccine can download an application from the health ministry website and apply to obtain a Smart Digital vaccine certificate.
The digital vaccination certificate, which is a joint effort by The Ministry of Health and the ICTA, will contain the vaccinated person’s Name, Age, NIC number, Brand and batch ID of the vaccine and the date inoculated.
This ‘Smart Digital vaccine certificate’ is issued officially by the government of Sri Lanka and the authenticity of it can be verified using QR code from anywhere in the World.
