Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera refuted news reports circulating in social media of a fuel price increase soon.
“There is no truth in the media reports of a fuel price hike in response to various social media posts,” the Minister said.
Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) sources said a fuel price formula will be introduced within a month. The present fuel price continues until implementing the new fuel price formula for a month period.
“There won’t be a fuel price revision for a month until implementing the new price formula,” the Minister noted.
Wijesekara said that fuel prices of both the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) and Lanka Indian Oil Company (LIOC) will be the same when introducing the new fuel price formula in a few weeks.
