Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa yesterday commended Trade Minister Bandula Gunawardena’s initiative to recycle plastic bottles through Sathosa outlets countrywide.
This new water bottle priced at Rs.35 at Sathosa outlets and Rs.10 will be reimbursed for each bottle when they are returned to the outlets. Minister Gunawardena at the launch of this initiative said that his objective is to make avenues for the consumers to buy water bottles at a cheaper rate and reduce the amount of plastic added to the environment The Opposition Leader in a tweet hoped that this intiaitve will be introduced to all manufactures using plastic bottles.“Great initiative Clapping hands sign@Bandula Dr hope we can enforce it on all manufacturers using plastic bottles. “It will make plastic collection for recycling a lot easier,” Premadasa tweeted.
