Sri Lankan Envoy in Moscow visits KSMU

A delegation of the Sri Lankan Mission in Moscow led by Ambassador Professor Janitha A. Liyanage recently visited Kursk State Medical University (KSMU) where more than 240 Sri Lankan students are currently studying.

Their discussion with the university management focused on many areas including the bilateral academic mobility of students and teachers and establishment of a University branch in Sri Lanka.

The Sri Lankan Envoy who also met the Governor of the Kursk region R. V. Starovoit focused on enhancing cooperation between the two nations.

“Russia and Sri Lanka have always been great friends and there are no circumstances that could break this friendship”, the Ambassador said.

She inaugurated the “Sri Lankan Night 2022”, a celebration of Sri Lankan culture on the eve of Sinhala and New Year in Kursk.

At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Prof. Liyanage indicated her plans for the development of a new round of mutually beneficial relations between the universities of the two countries. Honorary Consul for Sri Lanka in Kursk Associate Professor M.T. Chahine was also present.
